And saith unto him, If thou be the Son of God, cast thyself down: for it is written, He shall give his angels charge concerning thee: and in their hands they shall bear thee up, lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone.

Agree with thine adversary quickly, whiles thou art in the way with him; lest at any time the adversary deliver thee to the judge, and the judge deliver thee to the officer, and thou be cast into prison.

For this people's heart is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes they have closed; lest at any time they should see with their eyes and hear with their ears, and should understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them.

That seeing they may see, and not perceive; and hearing they may hear, and not understand; lest at any time they should be converted, and their sins should be forgiven them.

And in their hands they shall bear thee up, lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone.

And take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting, and drunkenness, and cares of this life, and so that day come upon you unawares.

And the inhabitant of this isle shall say in that day, Behold, such is our expectation, whither we flee for help to be delivered from the king of Assyria: and how shall we escape?

See that ye refuse not him that speaketh. For if they escaped not who refused him that spake on earth, much more shall not we escape, if we turn away from him that speaketh from heaven:

And the LORD brought us forth out of Egypt with a mighty hand, and with an outstretched arm, and with great terribleness, and with signs, and with wonders:

And he hath brought us into this place, and hath given us this land, even a land that floweth with milk and honey.

And hast brought forth thy people Israel out of the land of Egypt with signs, and with wonders, and with a strong hand, and with a stretched out arm, and with great terror;

But he that cometh against him shall do according to his own will, and none shall stand before him: and he shall stand in the glorious land, which by his hand shall be consumed.

Ye men of Israel, hear these words; Jesus of Nazareth, a man approved of God among you by miracles and wonders and signs, which God did by him in the midst of you, as ye yourselves also know:

Which shew the work of the law written in their hearts, their conscience also bearing witness, and their thoughts the mean while accusing or else excusing one another;)

Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders,

And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.

What is man, that thou shouldest magnify him? and that thou shouldest set thine heart upon him?

What is man, that thou art mindful of him? and the son of man, that thou visitest him? [continues next]

For thou hast made him a little lower than the angels, and hast crowned him with glory and honour. [continues next]

LORD, what is man, that thou takest knowledge of him! or the son of man, that thou makest account of him!

And when they had been there many days, Festus declared Paul's cause unto the king, saying, There is a certain man left in bonds by Felix:

[continues previous] Thou madest him to have dominion over the works of thy hands; thou hast put all things under his feet: [continues next]

Thy wrath lieth hard upon me, and thou hast afflicted me with all thy waves. Selah. [continues next]

For thou, LORD, hast made me glad through thy work: I will triumph in the works of thy hands.

But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honour; that he by the grace of God should taste death for every man.

I shall see him, but not now: I shall behold him, but not nigh: there shall come a Star out of Jacob, and a Sceptre shall rise out of Israel, and shall smite the corners of Moab, and destroy all the children of Sheth.

[continues previous] All sheep and oxen, yea, and the beasts of the field;

[continues previous] Thou hast put away mine acquaintance far from me; thou hast made me an abomination unto them: I am shut up, and I cannot come forth.

For he must reign, till he hath put all enemies under his feet.

For he hath put all things under his feet. But when he saith all things are put under him, it is manifest that he is excepted, which did put all things under him.

And when all things shall be subdued unto him, then shall the Son also himself be subject unto him that put all things under him, that God may be all in all.

And hath put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the church,

Thou madest him a little lower than the angels; thou crownedst him with glory and honour, and didst set him over the works of thy hands:

But to us there is but one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we in him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, by whom are all things, and we by him.

Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation;

I will declare thy name unto my brethren: in the midst of the congregation will I praise thee. [continues next]

Hear, O ye kings; give ear, O ye princes; I, even I, will sing unto the LORD; I will sing praise to the LORD God of Israel.

O LORD my God, in thee do I put my trust: save me from all them that persecute me, and deliver me: [continues next]

I will be glad and rejoice in thee: I will sing praise to thy name, O thou most High. [continues next]

Preserve me, O God: for in thee do I put my trust. [continues next]

[continues previous] I will declare thy name unto my brethren: in the midst of the congregation will I praise thee.

O keep my soul, and deliver me: let me not be ashamed; for I put my trust in thee. [continues next]

I will freely sacrifice unto thee: I will praise thy name, O LORD; for it is good.

I will praise thee, O Lord, among the people: I will sing unto thee among the nations.

So will I sing praise unto thy name for ever, that I may daily perform my vows. [continues next]

I will also praise thee with the psaltery, even thy truth, O my God: unto thee will I sing with the harp, O thou Holy One of Israel.

I will sing unto the LORD as long as I live: I will sing praise to my God while I have my being. [continues next]

I will praise thee, O LORD, among the people: and I will sing praises unto thee among the nations. [continues next]

I will praise thee with my whole heart: before the gods will I sing praise unto thee. [continues next]

I will worship toward thy holy temple, and praise thy name for thy lovingkindness and for thy truth: for thou hast magnified thy word above all thy name. [continues next]

I will sing a new song unto thee, O God: upon a psaltery and an instrument of ten strings will I sing praises unto thee.

And he lifted up his eyes, and saw the women and the children; and said, Who are those with thee? And he said, The children which God hath graciously given thy servant.

The God of my rock; in him will I trust: he is my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my high tower, and my refuge, my saviour; thou savest me from violence.

[continues previous] O LORD my God, in thee do I put my trust: save me from all them that persecute me, and deliver me:

In God I will praise his word, in God I have put my trust; I will not fear what flesh can do unto me.

In God have I put my trust: I will not be afraid what man can do unto me.

[continues previous] So will I sing praise unto thy name for ever, that I may daily perform my vows.

But it is good for me to draw near to God: I have put my trust in the Lord GOD, that I may declare all thy works.

[continues previous] I will sing unto the LORD as long as I live: I will sing praise to my God while I have my being.

[continues previous] I will praise thee, O LORD, among the people: and I will sing praises unto thee among the nations.

[continues previous] I will praise thee with my whole heart: before the gods will I sing praise unto thee.

Forasmuch then as Christ hath suffered for us in the flesh, arm yourselves likewise with the same mind: for he that hath suffered in the flesh hath ceased from sin; [continues next]

And one lamb out of the flock, out of two hundred, out of the fat pastures of Israel; for a meat offering, and for a burnt offering, and for peace offerings, to make reconciliation for them, saith the Lord GOD.

... shall be the prince's part to give burnt offerings, and meat offerings, and drink offerings, in the feasts, and in the new moons, and in the sabbaths, in all solemnities of the house of Israel: he shall prepare the sin offering, and the meat offering, and the burnt offering, and the peace offerings, to make reconciliation for the house of Israel.

Seventy weeks are determined upon thy people and upon thy holy city, to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most Holy.

For every high priest taken from among men is ordained for men in things pertaining to God, that he may offer both gifts and sacrifices for sins:

There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.
