[continues previous] I know it is so of a truth: but how should man be just with God?

[continues previous] Behold, I am vile; what shall I answer thee? I will lay mine hand upon my mouth.

[continues previous] I know that thou canst do every thing, and that no thought can be withholden from thee.

I would order my cause before him, and fill my mouth with arguments.

I would know the words which he would answer me, and understand what he would say unto me.

Thou hast also given me the shield of thy salvation: and thy gentleness hath made me great.

Thou hast enlarged my steps under me; so that my feet did not slip.

I sat not in the assembly of the mockers, nor rejoiced; I sat alone because of thy hand: for thou hast filled me with indignation.

I am one that bear witness of myself, and the Father that sent me beareth witness of me.

Many bulls have compassed me: strong bulls of Bashan have beset me round. [continues next]

They gaped upon me with their mouths, as a ravening and a roaring lion. [continues next]

The wicked plotteth against the just, and gnasheth upon him with his teeth.

And Jacob said to Simeon and Levi, Ye have troubled me to make me to stink among the inhabitants of the land, among the Canaanites and the Perizzites: and I being few in number, they shall gather themselves together against me, and slay me; and I shall be destroyed, I and my house.

I the LORD have said, I will surely do it unto all this evil congregation, that are gathered together against me: in this wilderness they shall be consumed, and there they shall die.
